OPERATION OF FINANCIAL ENTITIES, NON-FINANCIAL CREDIT PROVIDERS AND FOREIGN-EXCHANGE TRADERS

On April 6, 2020, the Central Bank of the Argentine Republic issued Communiqué "A" 6958, which regulated the opening of operating houses for customer service by financial entities, non-financial credit card companies and/or purchase or other non-financial credit providers duly registered with the Superintendency of Financial and Exchange Entities. Likewise, it was confirmed that the foreign exchange traders shall continue to be prevented from opening their branches for customer service, without prejudice to the fact that they shall be able to continue operating in the foreign exchange market remotely.

With respect to financial entities and non-financial credit card companies and/or purchases or other non-financial credit providers, it was established that they shall open their operating houses to serve the general public (except for over the counter service) from Monday, April 13, 2020 to Friday, April 17, 2020, extending the usual public service hours by 2 hours according to the jurisdiction in question.

To that end, clients shall be served according to a schedule based on the last number of the client's identity card (in the case of human persons) or the tax identification number (CUIT) verification digit (in the case of legal persons).

Individuals to be served shall have previously requested an appointment through the Internet site of the entities, or by any other electronic means that they make available (for example, email and/or telephone), and the entities shall submit by electronic means proof of the agreed appointment, which shall serve as a circulation permit between their home and the respective operating house. The entities shall make these appointments available to clients as of Wednesday, April 8, 2020.

In the case of financial entities, service to customers who are beneficiaries of social security benefits and pensions that are members of the Argentine Integrated Social Security System (SIPA, in its Spanish acronym) or of those whose administrative entity corresponds to provincial jurisdictions or to the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires, shall be in accordance with the schedule that the National Social Security Administration (ANSES, in its Spanish acronym) or the corresponding administrator establishes, not being necessary to obtain any appointment.
